It seems that this house has seen better days. No one lives here anymore and no one cares. But I can’t help to look at it every time I drive by.
This is the first time I took a photo of it. It’s also the first time I noticed something strange about the house. Click on the picture and look closer. I don’t know if they are real or not. I didn’t see them until I uploaded the photos. Do you see them?
UPDATE: Click here for part two.
I see big black birds…possibly vultures? sitting on chimneys..otherwise,what a shame, such an elegant home it must have been
Exactly! I will have to look again the next time I drive by to see if they are still there. Thanks for noticing and commenting!
It’s hard to tell if those black birds are real or not? I’d love to see inside the old house!
Blessings ~ Wendy
If I am daring enough, I will try to look in the windows and perhaps take some photos. Thanks!
I would take photos as well. It’s now a piece of art and history.
kind of spooky! If those are real birds, perhaps there is a nest in the chimney? Seems strange though to see one on each chimney. Wish we could hear the story the house has to tell.
Abandoned homes make me sad. I imagine the families that once lived there and the stories the home could tell… if it could.
I loved this post. Abandoned and dilapidated houses are sad and I can’t help but give them human attributes…
It’s been a few days. Have you driven by and seen the birds there again?
I haven’t. Thanks for following up. It is about 30 minutes away and not a regular route. I may be there next weekend.
I look forward to the answer! 🙂
The update is here. Check out the new Monster House photos!

Thanks for liking “Once Upon a Time She was Beautiful”. I too am drawn to old abandoned houses and have risked my life for photos of them! I have more shots of old houses at http://www.wabisabiimages.wordpress.com and also on my flickr account http://www.flickr.com/photos/cjnewlife12/ which you might enjoy.

The birds look like Turkey Vultures. Which goes well with the monster house theme.
